Powerful. Hard-hitting. Gripping... One of the finest films to emerge from the #Hindi film industry... #AkshayKumar terrific, #RMadhavan superb... MUST WATCH.

Kesari Chapter 2 is a box-office winner. Notwithstanding the relatively slow start it has taken, the film will ultimately go on to do very good business because the super-strong word of mouth will see collections shoot up. Business in cities and multiplexes will be better than that in smaller centres and single-screen cinemas.

3. Hindustan Times -
Rating Score -> 4/5
Akshay gives it his all in climax of this film, likely his best scene in the entire movie. His commanding screen presence is tapped into very well by director Karan in Kesari Chapter 2. Ananya Panday as budding lawyer Dilreet Gill complements Akshay wonderfully. There’s some scope for improvement in the emotional scenes, though.

4. News 18 -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan Are Fiery In This Courtroom Drama; Ananya Panday Holds Her Own. Akshay Kumar sheds off his aura as a superstar and chooses to lean on his acting prowess, taking it a notch higher than Sarfira.

5. India TV -
Rating Score -> 4/5
'Kesari Chapter 2' is a must-watch film. It is a story of truth, justice and pain, which has been presented with complete honesty. This story, which narrates an untold and shocking chapter of Indian history, should get a chance.

6. Times Now -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Director Karan Singh Tyagi uses his strengths perfectly in crafting a nail-biting thriller. With the emotions, it’s neither subtle nor extreme. Just for the performances and a good effort, Kesari Chapter 2 deserves a watch.

7. Rediff -
Rating Score -> 2/5
As is usually the case, the untold story in Kesari Chapter 2 is actually an inaccurate one wherein history is juggled and chronology is shuffled for the sake of drama.

8. India Today -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
'Kesari Chapter 2' is India's letter to the Crown, where each countryman folds their hands, humbly, with fire in their eyes and a bleeding heart under the weight of history - demanding, and not requesting - a simple 'sorry'. A deserving watch by children, families, the young audience, and all those who were born in free India, the film shows that we might have got freedom in 1947, but the fight for honour and justice continues 106 years on.

9. Gulf News -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
While both Madhavan and Akshay Kumar did manage to convince me — even stir anger over the criminal and brutal injustices committed by our colonisers — I couldn’t bring myself to feel anything for the principal players. Their performances had moments, but the emotional core felt undercooked.

10. NDTV -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Kesari Chapter 2 has some merits because the actor in question, despite not being the right man for the role, gives it all he has. As history, it is pure Bollywood. It errs on the side of superficiality.

11. Mid-day -

It seems like Akshay finally took the opinions of his fans seriously and shut the noise of the yes-men around him. The actor, who is a pro when it comes to bringing true stories on the big screen, nails it this time with the right script and treatment. He went into this project armed with his primary strength - acting and the result is incredible.

12. Times of India -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
The tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre is a well-documented chapter in history. Yet, this deep dive into the lesser-known case that shook the Empire makes for an incredible tale. Its gripping narrative and stellar performances make it a must-watch fare.

13. The Week -
Rating Score -> n/a
Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan lend considerable gravitas to a passable courtroom drama. Defiantly theatrical and defiantly cinematic, the film has Akshay Kumar's most likeable and commanding role since 'Special 26'

14. Indian Express -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Akshay Kumar stars in a film of its time, for its time, with dollops of patriotic fervour. Akshay Kumar plays C Sankaran Nair like an extension of his other roles. He and R Madhavan go head to head with thundering dialogues filling up the court-room drama and high-on-populism lines.
