Triptii Dimri holds her own against a delightful Vicky Kaushal. If Bad Newz had stuck to its comedic guns, without resorting to the weepy saccharine bits which take over in the second half, it would have been gold.

Vicky Kaushal is the only good news here. The Vicky Kaushal film resembles an Instagram filter that loses its sheen after first use. The surface is shimmery and looks glossy, but there is no material to sink your teeth into.
4. The Week -
Rating Score -> 2/5
‘Bad Newz’ wants to be funny, but has a convoluted story and screenplay. Also, its leading lights are not top-notch actors except for Vicky Kaushal who saves the film to the extent possible with his rambunctious energy and cute, endearing silliness.

Vicky Kaushal Singled-handedly Tries to Save the Show, Triptii Dimri Underwhelms

Bad Newz has everything you look out for in a comedy film. On acting terms, lead and supporting casts will not disappoint you. The story is good with a touch of fresh pairing of the trio, Vicky, Triptii, and Ammy. The film is a good watch, and you can definitely enjoy it with your family or your partner.

Bad Newzz is plagued with stereotypes that you wish had taken a backseat by now – Punjabis loving rajma chawal, mumma's boys being careless husbands, women choosing career over marriage, and the list goes on. While comedy isn't really the high point of this film, I liked how the makers have cleverly weaved in some fabulous meta jokes that stand out.
8. NDTV -
Rating Score -> 2/5
Film Relies On Vicky Kaushal To Pull It Out Of The Fire. Triptii Dimri seems intent on concealing the sea of emotions swirling within and around her behind an inscrutable mask as the befuddled character fights to assert her right to decide what is best for her and her unborn babies.

Vicky Kaushal is the spice of this half-baked dramedy. Bling, banter, and background score don’t align properly in this feather-weight contest between career and cupid
10. DNA -
Rating Score -> 2/5
Bad Newz could have been the next big dramedy movie from Dharma, but neither does this movie make you laugh, nor does it evoke any emotions, failing in both drama and comedy badly.

Bad Newz is far from being great news at the ticket windows as it is not a patch on the first (Good Newwz) in the series. It doesn’t have a great comedy drama but what will see the film do average business are Vicky Kaushal’s acting, ‘hot’ Tripti Dimri’s appeal, music, dances and novelty of subject.

A Leave-Your-Brains-Aside Entertainer. Ammy and Triptii have the chemistry of a door-to-door salesman and disinterested customer. On the other hand, she and Vicky burn down the house with their scorching sensuality

Bad Newz is not bad. But, then it is not great too. It balances somewhere in between. It has its moments, it gags, its rona-dhona-hansna-manaana. What else do you expect from a typical masala Bollywood rom-com backed by Karan Johar?
14. First Post -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
On the whole, Bad Newz failed to emerge as a very good film but undoubtedly is a treat for Kaushal fans.
