1. Times of India -
Rating Score -> 3/5
After watching ‘The Kerala Story,’ you may be left with several questions about the current state of the country. This thought-provoking film is disturbing and surely manages to leave an impact.
2. Indian Express -
Rating Score -> 1/5
A poorly-made, poorly-acted rant. When a film shines a light on different aspects of an issue, it creates space for reflection and conversation, and you come away with food for thought. What about a film which does exactly the opposite?
3. India TV -
Rating Score -> 2/5
The Kerala Story asks for sympathy for Shalini but gets too melodramatic and feels forced. Many scenes appear to be purely manipulative and leave us questioning our own religious beliefs; be it Hinduism or Islam. Bringing the reality of three-real life victims of 'Love Jihaad' to the screen was a tough task and the makers are only halfway successful to deliver.
4. First Post -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
The Kerala Story turns too melodramatic and manipulative due to the excessiveness of its background score, which literally highjacks the actors’ performances to inform us about the intent and turmoil of the characters. Even the glimpses of the real victims and their footages in the end isn’t convincing enough to create that uncomfortable stir that was required for a story this horrific.
5. News 18 -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Harrowing And Horrifying Stories That You Wish Weren't True. Sen skillfully chooses to go back and forth in time, this way, he succeeds in gaining his viewer’s unflinching attention.
6. Rediff -
Rating Score -> 1/5
A filmmaker has the right to pick the story they want to tell but not to twist and distort the way Sen has done in The Kerala Story. Hopefully, films like this and The Kashmir Files will remain exceptions.
7. NDTV -
Rating Score -> 1/5
The Writing Is Consistently Cringeworthy, The Acting Is No Better. A film so bad that its incompetence would have provided some entertainment had it not played so loose and fast with facts.
8. India Today -
Rating Score -> 1/5
The Kerala Story is not The Kashmir Files when it comes to execution. However, it does, unfortunately, have the capability to stir communal tension. It could have been better and more responsibly made, for sure.

Adah Sharma’s performance marred by half-truths and an emotionally exploitative gaze. The premise of ‘The Kerala Story’ demands attention and emotional investment, but director Sudipto Sen’s treatment is guided more by local politics than cinematic sagacity
11. Times Now -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
The film sheds light on a real-life issue (as claimed by the makers), which tends to create space for conversations and reflection. As a viewer, you must watch the film but don't believe in everything shown, blindly.
12. Zoom TV -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Sudip Sen's directorial The Kerala Story starring Adah Sharma is a good watch but only for entertainment. To believe in everything you watch on the big screen! The film comes with a good background score, strong and whistle-worthy dialogues, and a mix of dark and some refreshing elements, straight from God's Own Country, which is sitting on a ticking time bomb.
13. Taran Adarsh -
Rating Score -> 4/5
