Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan makes a disappointing start to week three as the film registered a further big drop on the 3rd Friday (Day 15). The film collected a paltry 50 lakh nett approx 15th day. The drop from the 14th day is around 50% which is big.
KBKJ's total collection at the end of day 15 stands at the 107.35 cr nett mark. The film is targeting 111-112 cr nett in its theatrical run in India which is much below the expected level. The film's decent business in the opening weekend saved it from emerging as a FLOP. The film will emerge as a Below Average at the box office and makers will recover their investment when non-theatrical revenues are considered.

Salman used to do 30cr+ opening day. 15cr is a disaster in comparison.

Zero chance of being Above Average unless post-holiday trending is great.
Tubelight was Below Average/Flop at a similar total.
68cr (producer figures) over a 3 day-weekend with 2 holidays is "good" now? just because the expectations were abysmal after low advance booking and from the promos? 125cr+ budget without Salman's fees? this is a failure.

Ended up 40% drop on Tue. Wed is showing a10-15% drop by noon looking at Sacnilk. Could end up dropping 20%+ by end of day.

ReplyDeleteSwap the release dates of Bholaa and KBKJ, and their gross would be swapped too. Bholaa lost 10-15% due to Ramadan and didn't have Eid bump like KBKJ.
ReplyDeleteWithout Eid and additionally if released in Ramadan, KBKJ would have not hit much more than 90cr.
Without Ramadan and additionally if released in Eid, Bholla would have cracked 100cr with ease and reached around 110cr (It still would be a failure).
Release period mattered more than star-power.
