Cirkus has taken a below the mark start on Friday (1st Day) morning shows as early samples are coming in. This is not a good sign as it is a big Christmas release and directed by Blockbuster director Rohit Shetty. Hoping that the film picks up the pace as the day progresses.
Cirkus takes an opening of 15% in the morning shows today. The opening is decent in some parts of India but in the rest of India, it is below the mark. Maharashtra as a whole has taken a better start because of Rohit Shetty's stronghold. But in the rest it is low and in most places, it has taken a single-digit start.
The start suggests the film has some task cut out to touch the double-digit mark for the day. Ideally, it should have been a cakewalk. In an ideal case, the film should have taken an opening of 15 crore net approx or more. But the morning start suggests the film may touch 10-12 crore nett at the most. If the film fails to show the necessary growth then it will struggle to even touch 10 and may settle at the 8-9 crore nett range. If that happens it will send a shockwave to the industry.
Cirkus will depend on spot booking and word of mouth as film's advance booking for day 1 is poor. We hope that the reports come out positive and film shows good momentum in the latter half of the day.
