Avatar: The Way Of Water has taken a bumper opening on Sunday (3rd Day) morning shows in India. The start is better than both Friday and Saturday and looks like the film is truly chasing the 50 cr NBOC mark for the day. This is insane stuff!
Avatar 2 opens to 50% occupancy in the morning shows today. For the same, Saturday opening was 40-42%. It means a growth of 20% is seen when only morning shows are considered. This is excellent considering the film had an outstanding Saturday.
Avatar 2 has put up 86 crore nett in the first two days. The film is eyeing 135-137 crore nett for the opening weekend now in India. The film is doing excellent in South India. Business in the North is picking up and Sunday should be better there.
A 47-48 crore nett for the day is almost a certainty now. If the film continues its excellent trend for the rest of the day then the film can even touch the 50 crore nett or even go beyond that mark. Avatar 2 is a SMASH HIT and business from Monday (Day 4) will determine where it will stand in the HIT Zone (Hit/Semi Hit/Blockbuster).
