Drishyam 2 has created havoc at the box office on Sunday (3rd day) as early trends for the day are coming in. The film is registering huge occupancy all through the day and in fact, there is a genuine capacity issue for the day. Had there been more shows, the film would have scored more.
Drishyam 2 opened to bumper occupancy of 65-70% in the morning shows today. The film went on to the next level in the noon and registered 85% occupancy. The film has held extremely well from evening onwards and as per the latest reporting an outstanding 80-85% occupancy.
In many cinema halls, film registered occupancy of 90% and above throughout the day. This was missing post-pandemic and hence, Drishyam 2 has created a history of sorts. As there is a capacity issue today, we expect people to watch the film on Monday or even Tuesday. Hence, don't be surprised if the film holds extremely well on weekdays.
Occupancy Report for Day 3 (Samples only) -
Morning - 65-70%
Noon - 85%
Evening-Night - 80-85%
The early trend suggests Drishyam 2 Third Day Box Office Collection is heading towards the 27 (+/-) crore nett range. This is huge as the film is only released in around 3300 screens. Thus, the film first-weekend business is trending towards an excellent 64 (+/-) crore nett range.
Kindly note that these are early estimates from the limited samples we have at this moment. A major pool of reports from interiors is awaited and hence the final count for the day may vary. If film does extremely well in the interiors and in the remaining shows for the day then film can even touch 28 or 29 crore nett for the day.
