Bhediya which is also released in 3D format has taken a low opening at the box office. The low opening is a bit shocking as the film was carrying good buzz prior to its release. It may be because of working Friday also and if that is the case then we should see a better occupancy in the latter half of the day.
Bhediya has opened to 10-15% occupancy in the morning shows today. Samples are from multiplexes only. Occupancy is a bit low and ideally, a 20-25% opening would have been better. Still, these are early days as it is only the morning shows.
Bhediya has managed to get a screen count of 2800-3000 across India which is good considering there is also Drishyam 2 which has retained a good number of screens for the second week running.
Bhediya will mostly depend on the word of mouth now as the film has taken a low opening. For that ground-level reports of audiences need to be on the positive side. As for the critic's report that hardly matters as the audience doesn't give a damn about that.
Ideally, Bhediya needs a double-digit start to its box office campaign. Anything below that will be below the mark start. For that to happen film needs to pick up well post the noon shows otherwise film first-day collection will remain way below the double-digit mark.
