Liger Hindi version had a horrific first week at the box office. The film although had little face value in the north was marketed very well and in fact, trade expected the film to do 40-50 crore nett business from the Hindi version. However, the film has faltered badly in the first week and it looks like will wrap up its lifetime business under the 25 crore nett mark.
Liger collected an extremely poor 18.15 crore nett approx in the first week. Ideally, that should have been the first weekend business if not more. The way film was marketed widely and released on good numbers of screens in the Hindi belt, a first-week business should have been 30 crore nett approx if not more.
In fact, the film opened decently on the first day despite having low occupancy. On Friday film collected in excess of 4 crore nett. If the film had followed a decent trend after Friday would have easily collected 18-20 crore nett for the weekend and 27-30 crore nett for the first week. It means how badly film trended from Saturday onwards. Liger is a disastrous flop at the box office and despite getting a free run in week two, there is literally no chance for it.
