Raksha Bandhan has taken a comparatively lower start on Friday (2nd day) at the box office as early morning samples are coming in. Start is lower than Thursday (1st day) and it is a bit of a shock considering the day 1 opening was low.
Raksha Bandhan has opened to 12-13% on day 2 in the morning shows. Samples are from multiplexes only. For the same, Thursday morning shows occupancy was around 15%. It means a drop of 15-20% is seen when only morning shows are taken into consideration.

Raksha Bandhan performed below the mark on Thursday and the story looks the same for the 2nd day also. In fact, it is worse. The opening of Friday suggests that second day collection of Raksha Bandhan may stay below the first day unless the film shows a significant growth in the latter part of the day. And, this is happening after a low first day.
Things are not looking great for the film at this moment. Yes, Saturday, Sunday, and Independence Day holiday is still to come but the trend is poor so far. As for the ground-level report of theatre-going audiences, it is on the mixed side. Ground reports are neither great nor poor, somewhere in between.

Still the movie can be a hit. 8+8+9+10+10 and its 45 cr...so first extended week will be around 60cr...the budget is 70-80....from 2nd weekend its in the hit zone
ReplyDeleteAK fee 110 crores as per media reports. In any case, I don’t think a film getting a hit tag at 70 Cr is a good look for superstars like AK, SK, HR, Aamir, etc.
