Laal Singh Chaddha has shown a major drop in business on the second day (Friday) at the box office. The trend is very bad for day 2 which is not at all a good sign. Yes, Friday was a working day and a drop was inevitable. But a 10-15% drop would have been acceptable. Here it is much more than that.
LSC collected 7.25 crore nett approx on day 2. Drop from Day 1 is around 40% which is huge. And this is coming off from a low first day. Film total business at the end of day 2 stands at 18.95 crore nett approx. We simply don't have any reason for such rejection of the film. The real weekend is still to start but signs are looking really bad at this moment.
LSC should definitely see a better business on Saturday (day 3) than Friday. But again as the Friday film business has come down heavily will need a significant jump. Saturday numbers should at least be in the double-digit now if not more. Sunday and Monday (Independence Day) box office collections are now extremely crucial to salvage some pride now. Then there is every possibility of a big drop on Tuesday when normal weekdays work will resume.
Collection Breakup -
Thursday - 11.7 crore nett
Friday - 7.25 crore nett approx
Total - 18.95 crore nett approx
