Karthikeya 2 is an interesting story as the film is surprising literally everyone with its box office performance from the Hindi version. With each passing day, screens are getting increased and so does the business. The film started with 7 lakh nett business on Saturday and accumulated 1.5 crore nett business approx on 1st Thursday. Don't be surprised if the film continues its upswing till 2nd Sunday at least.
Karthikeya 2 has collected 5.5 crore nett approx from the Hindi version in the first week. Numbers are low but the possibility is unlimited as the film can grow to any level on the 2nd Friday. Then there should be further growth on the 2nd Saturday and 2nd Sunday. Don't be at all surprised if the film's second-weekend business comes higher than the first week.
Karthikeya 2 is another example that a good film will work no matter what. Bollywood is giving a load of excuses for the failure of its recent biggies Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan. But the truth is that substandard material will now not work on the big screens.
