Shamshera has opened similar to Saturday and Friday on Sunday (3rd day) morning shows as early samples are coming in. Opening is slightly better, but again it is only just, not significant. The film is going flat through the weekend and looks like the Sunday story will be nearly the same.
Shamshera opened to 15-17% occupancy in the morning shows of day 3. For the same, Saturday opening was 14% and Friday opening was 15%. A jump of 15% is seen when Sunday samples are compared to Saturday. There is just 5% growth seen when Sunday samples are compared to Friday.
Shamshera is eyeing 32-34 crore nett approx for the first weekend. This is below average number for a film that is carrying a huge budget. Ideally, Shamshera needed to collect at least 50 crore nett in the opening weekend. As the thing stands, the film may fall short of the par total by at least 16-17 crores.
The worst part is that film word of mouth is mixed. It means there may be a significant drop coming on the dreaded Monday. If that happens it will be all over for the film. Monday is still a little bit far. Before that film needs a strong Sunday. Let's hope that Shamshera shows jump and scores well on Sunday noon and afternoon shows. There may be some drop coming in the evening and night time which is a norm for all Sundays.
