Samrat Prithviraj had a very poor first week at the box office as early trends for day 7 are coming in. The film has touched 55 crore nett in India but honestly, it should have been achieved by the first weekend itself.
Samrat Prithviraj is reporting a 10-15% drop on Thursday (7th day) at the box office. Occupancy for the day is around 10% which is pretty low.
The film's 7th day box office collection is heading towards the 3-3.25 crore nett range. These are early estimates and the final count for the day may vary. Thus, the film's first week total is heading towards 55.25-55.5 crore nett approx.
Honestly, Samrat's first week of business should have been 75-80 crore nett approx if not more. It means the film has underperformed by 20-25 crores in the first week itself. There is not much steam left in the tank. Shows will be reduced from second week and there is a big possibility that film will see a significant drop on 2nd Friday.
Samrat Prithviraj's lifetime collection is trending towards the 75-80 crore nett mark. A 100 crore nett mark looks out of reach now. The film is a big disappointment as it was needed to collect in excess of 150 crore nett approx. It will be a highly loss-making project for almost all associated with it.
