The advance booking of Samrat Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar is low at this moment. Despite only a few hours left till the first show, the film has failed to garner good momentum. Yes, Akshay Kumar films tend to have more spot bookings, but in the case of Prithviraj, things are different.
The budget of the film is huge and it needs more than just a good opening. If we go by the advances only, the film is set to take a slow start at the box office. Yes, everything may change if the film gathers momentum from the first show itself with huge spot bookings reported.
As per the latest film is reporting an advance of just 7-8% whenever advance bookings are started. This is a bit shocking considering Prithviraj is an Akshay Kumar and YRF collaboration. If we go by the advances a single-digit opening is on cards. Ideally, a film like Prithviraj needs an opening in excess of 15 crores at least. A 20 crore nett will be a fantastic start.
Samrat Prithviraj is releasing in 3500 screens across India. If Telugu and Tamil versions are added then the film has managed to get around 3700 screens across India. Screen Count is more than enough. The only question is the occupancy. Even if the film reports a decent occupancy for the first day then the collection will touch or easily go past the double-digit mark. There are still some hours left for the first show and we are hoping that film makes as good progress as far as advance booking is concerned.
