Runway 34 is fighting hard at the box office despite getting low collections. Ground-level reports are on the positive side. The real problem is that that film started so lowly on Friday that even a good trend is not helping the film's cause. The film needs a miraculous trending that is missing at this moment.
Runway 34 has opened to 18-20% occupancy in the morning shows. The opening is better than all days so far except Sunday. Even it is not far behind the Sunday opening. Today is the EID holiday and that should boost the box office business of Runway 34.
Runway 34 should touch 20 crore nett by the end of the day. The first week collection is heading towards a below-par 24-25 crore nett mark. The film will get some screens in the second week and has to battle it out with a monster in waiting named Doctor Strange. Will it? Let's wait and watch.
Runway 34 Occupancy Details for Morning Shows (Samples only) -
Tuesday - 18-20%
Monday - 8%
Sunday - 23-25%
Saturday - 13-15%
Friday - 10%

DeleteThis has been happening with films starring Amitabh Bachchan since last three decades. Barring few films, most of his ventures have turned out to be huge disasters at boxoffice. Actually his role is greater in bringing down Bollywood.
