Jersey had a poor start to the box office campaign on day one. The film reported low occupancy all through the first day and there was no substantial growth seen in evening and night shows. The film will now need a big push on Saturday (day 2) to have any kind of chance at the box office.
Jersey has collected 4 crore nett approx on Friday which is way below the par score. Ideally, the film needed double of that to have a decent start to its box office campaign. KGF 2 Hindi version on 2nd Friday has collected nearly triple of Jersey first day. Just imagine how badly the film performed on opening day.
Jersey's first-day occupancy was a poor 16-17%. The film fared better in evening and night but occupancy remain in the 25% range which is again low.
All is not lost for the film as there is still a recovery process. If the film manages at least 50% growth on Saturday and a further good jump on Sunday, then a decent first weekend on cards. That will also mean that ground-level word of mouth is on the positive side and the film may hold well on 1st Monday. But again there are a lot of ifs and buts in between. We will have a clear picture of the ground-level report by the end of the day.

Shahid and Mrunal are good actors, they deserved better than this movie failing.
