Gangubai Kathiawadi is reporting a superb hold on the 2nd Friday (day 8) at the box office as early trends for the day are coming in. Thus, the film is now all set to emerge as a success in the coming days.
Gangubai occupancy report for the 8th day is given below. Occupancy is better than 1st Thursday (7th day) which is fantastic. However, there will be a nominal business drop as shows are reduced from today.
The early trend suggests Gangubai Day 8 Box Office Collection is heading towards 4.5 (+/-) crore nett range. These are early estimates and the final count for the day may vary. Thus, the film total collection at the end of Second Friday is heading towards 73.5 (+/-) crore nett range.
The film is all set to see a good to very good jump on 2nd Saturday (day 9) and 2nd Sunday (day 10). Gangubai will now certainly touch 100 crore nett in India and should achieve this feat by the end of week two itself.
Gangubai is almost certain now to at least achieve Above Average or Semi Hit status. Business through the weekend and on weekdays will determine whether it can attain Clean Hit or not.

Bollywood must be seriously frustrated with continuous failures. In year 2021, 57 movies released & out of that 53 were disaster, 3 flops, & only 1 hit, no superhit, blockbuster, or ATBB. But simply calling another disaster as success isn't going to help change any narrative. Everybody knows that Gangubai isn't just an Alia Bhatt movie but an SLB 1st. If a Sanjay Bhansali's movie is struggling to do a 100 Cr business then there is clearly trouble brewing.
Agreed, how can a movie be a theatrical Hit if it cannot recover it's cost in theatre revenue.
