A 50% occupancy capping has hurt Gangubai Kathiawadi badly on Sunday (3rd day) as the film might have easily registered much better occupancy had 100% occupancy been allowed. This news itself is a big plus for the film as the film has gone on rampage mode on Sunday.
Gangubai occupancy details for day 3 are given below. When samples are compared to Saturday then there is a jump of 20% is seen. In a few places, the jump is bigger whereas in others it is slightly below.
The early trend suggests Gangubai 3rd Day collection is heading towards a fantastic 16 (+/-) crore nett range. These are early estimates and hence the final count for the day may vary.
Thus, Gangubai's first weekend total is heading towards a very respectable 39.5-40 (+/-) crore net range. This is an excellent number considering the film is the first major release post coronavirus third wave in India and there is 50% occupancy capping in various parts of India. Now it is all up to the weekdays. If film shows good trending on weekdays then it will emerge as a Hit at the box office in the coming days.

Spiderman did 33 Crores & Pushpa did 42 crores opening day biz when the same conditions existed. Valimai did opening day of 32 Crores & BHeemla Nayak did 37 Crores but, here touching mere 16 Crores for a movie directed by Bollywood's ace director is being called a "rampage". Seems like Bollywood has also accepted that not many are going to come to watch their movie in theatres anymore. This is what happens when too much negativity surrounds you.
