83 movie is steady on weekdays. Although Monday registered a significant drop and hence, even a decent hold on Tuesday (day 5) and Wednesday (day 6) is of no use. There is still some more to come as the film will enjoy the New Year's holiday period. Will that be enough?
83 has added 5.65 crore net approx on 6th day that is on Wednesday. Thus, film total business at the end of six days is around 66.65 crore net approx. Film first week collection is going to be in excess of 70 crore net mark. However, in an ideal case scenario, the first-week business should have been 100 crore net at least if not more.
83 is riding on a huge budget. In fact, it is one of the costliest films ever made in Bollywood. But theatrical returns (whatever it will be) don't justify the budget. Makers have to look at other avenues to recover their investment. Despite that, there will be some loss unless the film remains rock-solid for another two weeks.
