83 has shown a reasonable hold on 1st Monday (4th day) at the box office. Despite the decent hold numbers are below the mark and film is going nowhere. Ideally, the Monday collection should have been close to Friday. If not then at least should have touched a double-digit score.
83 has collected 7.3 crore net approx on day 4. Drop from opening day is 40-45% which is pretty ok in normal circumstances. But in the case of 83, it is not. 83 total collection currently stands at 54.3 crore net approx. Ideally, this should have been the bare minimum collection for the weekend if not more.
83 is all set to see more trouble in the coming days. Breaking news is coming in that theatres are going to get closed in Delhi. There is a rise in the positivity rate of the omicron virus and hence Delhi Govt has taken such a strong step. It means there will be a further dent in the box office business of the film. Even a 100 crore looks like a distant dream now which should have been a cakewalk for a film like 83.
Collection Breakup -
Friday - 12.65 crore net
Saturday - 16.95 crore net
Sunday - 17.4 crore net
Monday - 7.3 crore net
Total (All Languages) - 54.3 crore net approx

ReplyDeleteJersey got postponed because cinemas are closing in Delhi. With Mumbai is at 50% occupancy & Delhi shut reaching even 83 Crores seems tough
