83 had a decent first weekend at the box office. Decent only because of the post-pandemic release. Otherwise considering film pre-release hype, budget and Christmas release factor collections are below the mark.
83 has added 17.4 crore net approx on day 3 that is on Sunday. There is a growth seen from Saturday but again it is very limited. Had Saturday business been big then Sunday numbers would have been ok. But Saturday also under-performed considering it was a national holiday.
83 total business at the end of opening weekend is 47 crore net approx. Ideally, the film should have collected 55-60 crore net for the opening weekend. That means the film has collected 10 crores less from a decent to good zone.
83 still can recover grounds as Christmas to New Year is a fruitful period. But Monday numbers should remain close to Friday. After that film needs to hold well through the weekdays. Will it? We will have some idea by the end of the day.
