Sooryavanshi has taken a fantastic start at the Indian Box Office. Thus, films have single-handedly revived cinema halls and the exhibition sector post coronavirus pandemic. Audiences are back in theaters now and that is also in big numbers. The film started well and is now all set for a huge opening weekend.
Sooryavanshi collected a very good 26.3 crore net approx on Friday (1st day). Film registered an all-India occupancy of 50-55% on average for day one. In many places, the 50% occupancy rule is still going on and it has definitely affected the overall occupancy. Otherwise, occupancy would have been even better.
Anyways half the work is completed for Sooryavanshi with a good start. Now, it all depends on the content. Initial word of mouth of theater-going audiences is positive. Even critics have given a thumbs up to the film. This augurs well for the film in the coming days.
There is no doubt that the film will collect big on Saturday and Sunday. Post-Diwali time, the family audience comes in numbers to watch the film in theaters. Hence, collections should be good to very good for the weekend. It means Sooryavanshi will collect 70-80 crore net in the first weekend itself. That means in the worst-case scenario also film should touch and go past 100 crore net in India.
From Monday onward real trends and word of mouth will be known. We will have some idea on the lifetime collection by the end of Monday and more so on 2nd Friday. That will tell whether film can touch 150 crore net or even challenge the 200 crore mark in India. The start has more or less ensured that the film will be a success at the box office. Coming days will tell whether it can emerge as a big hit or not.
