Bunty Aur Babli 2 has fared below par on the First Day (Friday) at the box office. The film reported low occupancy all through the day despite releasing in 1800 screens. Occupancy was better in the second half of the day but again was at a low level.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 has collected 2.75-3 crore net approx on day one going by the estimates. Datas are pouring in and actual may vary. The film has reported a low occupancy of around 10-15% on average for the day. Ideally, the film should have an average occupancy of at least 20% for day one. That would have augured well for the rest of the weekend.
Now the film will need a huge jump on Saturday (2nd day) and further big growth on Sunday (3rd day) to put up a decent total for the weekend. Chances are less considering film is reporting mixed word of mouth. Even critics have given mixed reviews of the film. However, critics' reviews hardly matter for theater-going audiences.
A 15 crore net first-weekend start should have been a minimum for the film. Ideally, the film needed to be close to the 20 crore mark. However, looking at the start, Bunty Aur Babli 2 first weekend total may be heading towards the 10-12 crore net mark.
