Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has performed strongly in India on the opening weekend. Yes, numbers could have been better but again a double-digit opening is acceptable considering the current situation. Hindi belt has performed decent, whereas business in South India is better.
Shang Chi collected 3.3 crore net on Saturday (day 2) and 4.5 crore net approx on Sunday (day 3). Film first weekend total thus stands at 10.8 crore net approx. From here on Shang Chi is looking at the first-week total in excess of the 15 crore net mark. There will be some drop on 1st Monday as weekdays have started. Tuesday's hold will determine whether the film has enough strength to have a long run in India or not.
Collection Breakup -
Friday - 3 crore net
Saturday - 3.3 crore net
Sunday - 4.5 crore net
Total - 10.8 crore net approx
F9: The Fast Saga had a low first weekend at Indian Box Office. The film collected 8-8.25 crore net approx in the opening weekend in India. As the film was released on Thursday, ideally it should have crossed the 10 crore net mark by the end of the weekend. In fact, an 11-12 crore net would have been a good start. The film has fallen short of the expected mark by 3-4 crores. Let's see how the film performs on the weekdays now.
