There is a small piece of an update for all Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn's fans.
Coming to Akshay first, his much anticipated Laxmmi Bomb was earlier tentatively planned for release on 9th or 11th September 2020. However, the film release date is now pushed and it will most probably release in November 2020, and maybe close to the Diwali period on Disney+ Hotstar. Yes, this is the piece of news we are getting through sources. This is not confirmed though an official announcement is awaited.
It means Ajay Devgn's much anticipated Bhuj: The Pride of India is pushed further and that film might see the light on December 2020 on the same OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.
There is so specific reason given for the delay in the release of both the films. It may be because of the lukewarm response to the films recently released on the OTT platform maybe except Sushant Singh Rajput's Dil Bechara. Dil Bechara emerged as a Blockbuster on the OTT platform, however, apart from that every other release have bitten the dust as they hardly received good viewership.
There is also a concern of too much negativity going on in the film industry because of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Because of this Hotstar might have planned to postpone the release of their two most premium films. They are expecting a spike in subscribers and a hike in viewership with both these above-mentioned movies.
Also, there is another angle happening now. IPL is scheduled for next two months starting September 2020. Hotstar is willing to wait until IPL is over. They think IPL will already bring new subscribers and viewership to them. Then what is the need to release these films in the midst of IPL? Let's IPL get over and then plan the release of Laxmmi Bomb and Bhuj.
