Rajesh Khanaa has 31 Hits and 21 Hits from 69-74 an incredible record
Rajesh Khanaa had 9 Hits in 18 months with many major hits which is a record which will remain for ever
He has over 10 bumper openers with 4 record openers and He is referred as the First Superstar of Bollywood with mass hysteria which is seen by very few Superstars
I am doubtful prem bandhan and anurodh were hits. Amardeep dhanwaan and thodi si bewafaai souten avtaar were clean hits
DeleteRajesh khanna had 42+ hits in total career and 57 hits if we adjust Inflation .
DeleteAlso kaka had not 21 but clean Certified 25+ hits in 1969-1974 period
Great career, what a Superstar, what a actor, what great movies.
ReplyDeleteAnd ofcourse the amazing songs associated with him and his movies. Incredible songs to this day.
But again it is noticeable that in time stardom beings to fade in terms of hits. But this is seen with many actors who have had a long career.
Addatoday, another great article.
Keep it up.
Fake Rajesh Khanna Total 105 Box office Hits 74 golden jubilee hits check imdb
ReplyDeleteFalse. If so name the movies
DeleteRajesh Khanna 74 golden jubilee hits Total 105 box office hits
ReplyDeleteYes it is true.
DeleteKhanna was the one of the greatest stars right up to late 1980s & probably still had popularity only next to Amitabh Bachchan. The original superstar of the Indian Cinema had the greatest run from 1969 to 1973 when truly he was at top from no.1 to no.10. The others came from 11 onwards. Though his charisma began to fade a little from 1973 because of the rise of Bachchan, he still managed to be in the top bracket and kept churning out successful films year after year. Yes, he was not the same supreme king but his popularity was nothing less than a superstar. Because of the Bachan phenomenon a perception was that khanna had lost his charm & pull which was far from reality. He continued to b highest paid actor right up to late 1980s which is enough to speak for his grand success & box office pull. The original superstar & the megastar shared screen space in only two movies which turned out to be gems of indian cinema. Unfortunately for the Cinegoers that they could not wattch these two superstars together again post 1973 to set the silver screen on fire when both the stars had reached & flourishing in their superstardom. It would have been gr8 spectacle which unfortunately was not to be.
ReplyDeleteDisco dancer
ReplyDeletePlz add
Rajesh Khanna was undoubtedly greatest emotional romantic and sensitive actor
DeleteAlthough he could not do what Amitabh could do in Deewar sholay and zangeer, but it is also true that Amitabh could not do like Rajesh in Aradhna , sufar and Anand , both actors were made of different soil, they should not be considered with each other
ReplyDeleteYes sanjeev kumar was the greatest actor ever born in the world
No doubt Rajesh khanna was 1st superstar of indian cinema only for short period from 1969 to 1973 wherein he gave maximum super hits n blockbuster movies but thereafter a new star emerged after 1973 and ruled the Indian cinema like never before till date he has a huge fan following all over the world and gave maximum number hits super hits n blockbusters movies he is none than great Megastar Shri Amitabh bachchan.
ReplyDeleteAmitabh can never match peak Rajesh khanna who gave solo hero hits. Ammitabh mostly gave multistarrer hits.
DeleteThe list has many errors. Dushman Dost, Waapsi, bhayen haath ka Khel & OM were not released at all. Dhanwan, dard, dharam kanta, dharm aur kannon, aakhir kyon were hots.
ReplyDeleteClearly superstar no doubt about it we all love
ReplyDeleteRajesh Khanna easily the greatest superstar of indian cinema. Most of his hits were solo hero hits. Whereas amitabh had mostly multistarrer hits. Makes Rajesh the biggest superstar.
ReplyDeleteHatyara, Naya Bakra, Guddi, Sundara Satarkar ( Marathi ), Disco Dancer, Ram Tere Kitne Nam, cinema cinema, Shiriman Ji, Shadi Se Pehle A few more Not Add.
ReplyDeleteNo comparison between Rajesh Khanna and Bacchan
ReplyDeleteIndia's PM Indira Gandhi was hellbent in making Amitabh successful and had forced Rajesh Khanna friends like Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra to sign Bacchan for their films. Allowed excessive violence only in Bacchan films during emergency and had blocked voice of Rajesh Khanna aka Kishore Kumar on then only available medium, Radio.
Look at selection of roles despite being super star. No heroin or action in Anand, Bawarchi. Acting in female dominating films like Amar Prem and Safar yet giving the most memorable performance
DeleteAbsolute nonsense. AMITABH BACHCHAN was 100 times more talented than Rajesh. Rajesh was at the best an idiotic actor good only at nodding his head like a stupid fellow. AMITABH was the real actor. Rajesh was the so called superstar for only 5 years, while AMITABH was the No 1 for more than 20 years. Check out all the opinion polls. AMITABH was always the No 1 while Rajesh was not even amongst the top 10.
DeleteExactly, What these people don't understand is Amitabh majorly had all multi starrer films. kaka gave solo hits there is no super star/actor before or after him. Indira gandhi was a major reason for big b sucess in the end he left them too like he always does to all the people who supported him.
DeleteNo star ever had dared to accept such versatile roles as they are most risky but Rajesh Khanna took that risk. His flop run started with emergency and ended before emergency aka from 1976. He had 3 superhits in 74. Roti, Prem Nagar and Aap ki Kasam.
ReplyDeleteAfter 1974 he was always a flop. The great BACHCHAN and Dharmendra totally overshadowed him.
DeleteAMITABH BACHCHAN has been the greatest STAR-ACTOR of all times. Egoistic Rajesh Khanna was nothing but a pygmy in front of the great BACHCHAN.
ReplyDeleteAs an actor AMITABH has been the most versatile while Rajesh was killed due to his boring mannerisms. He was so self absorbed that he never grew as an actor after ARADHANA.
ReplyDeleteamitabh killed the hindi film industry by dominating in all his films, when he was the superstar. The heroines had now work & his films only had masala. on the other hand, rajesh khanna gave films which had good storylines, pleasing music & good direction.
ReplyDelete
