Nobody signs up to watch ‘Baaghi 3’ for a cerebral, intelligent-viewing experience, but to see gleaming torso of Tiger Shroff do impossible stunts with those muscles fists. He seems to be modelled after fading Hollywood’s cult action hero ‘Rambo’. Director Ahmed Khan takes such cartoonish liberties that you mind boggles at the nonsense that’s being hurled at you. Apart from the impressive stunt sequences and nuggets of humour that lands, there’s very little working for ‘Baaghi 3’ where Ronnie’s rampage goes global and he wants to take down militant outfit in Syria. The viewers thought? Who will save us from Ronnie?

There are ample of slo-mo shots, deafening explosions and lethal punches in ‘Baaghi 3’. But none of it can rise beyond a weak script that doesn’t go for the kill. Knock yourself out only if you’re a diehard Tiger Shroff fan.

It seems like Ahmed Khan (director and action) went through this elaborate ruse of a movie only to attempt the various stunts he couldn’t execute in his previous ventures. Agreed, three choppers heaped up over each other completes a compelling visual. But with little thought extended to justify how they got there, renders this one as a brain-numbing watch.

It doesn't matter how Baaghi 3 is received, it will go bonkers at the box-office and that will only pave way for Baaghi 4, 5, and 6. This could be the longest-running franchise of Hindi Cinema, but as a fan of this genre and especially the first Baaghi, I'm hoping to see something refreshing in the next film. Because sometimes, not only the story, the stunts need reinvention too!

Director Ahmed Khan obviously has a talent for helming big actioners, but Baaghi 3 certainly does not qualify as his best. That being said, this is a film obviously aimed at the single screen audience and given Tiger Shroff’s loyal following, it may just work the box-office numbers. It's a pity that despite its gravity-defying stunts and impressive firepower, Baaghi 3, the third edition of a successful franchise ends not in a bang but a whimper.

What I really laughed loud at is gun-toting Syrian police running around like puppets and taking orders from Tiger and Shraddha while they single-handedly take down global terrorism. Leave your brains at home did someone say? In vain! Tiger travels to Syria and beyond sense to clobber everything in sight.

Fans of Tiger Shroff are in a treat. They can catch their six-pack abs hero, with pumped-up muscles, performing super-heroic action scenes as he single-handedly destroys the most notorious criminal terrorist den in the world. In the end, the film is about selfless love between siblings. If you want to call me a rebel, so be it, says Tiger in the last scene.

Baaghi 3, the makers revealed in a behind-the-scenes video, was shot on a set with a radius of 2.5 kilometers. There are helicopters, missile tanks and hundreds of cars. It’s stylised to the level of madness. Yet, the film lacks sincerity. Now, how can one justify a two-star police officer being sent to Syria to head an anti-terrorism mission! And how can one terrorist organisation be called ‘Jaish-E-Lashkar’ when the literal meaning of both Jaish and Lashkar is ‘army’! Combining the names of two widely-known terrorist groups to coin a new one sometimes doesn’t help! Baaghi 3, in a nutshell, survives mostly on its action and its lead star’s innate ability to perform it effortlessly.

As I said in my Baaghi 2 review, Tiger Shroff is the platonic ideal of the Bollywood action hero. He makes outlandish situations exciting. But even he needs a compelling story to hang that action on. Otherwise all his hard work doesn’t add up to much. And we leave the theater feeling pummeled like those countless men he hits in this film.
