Malang and Shikara First Day (Friday) Box Office Collection Report

Malang has shown a decent first day (Friday) at the box office. Film collections are ok but will need good growth on Saturday (day 2). However, there will be a limited business in Delhi because of elections and hence a percentage of business will be affected.

Malang has collected 6.7 crore net approx on day one. Numbers are ok and could have been better. But it is of no issue if the film shows good trending throughout the weekend. A 4-5 crore net start would have been bad. A 7-8 crore net start would have been good. Numbers are somewhere in between.

A 25 crore net or more for the weekend would have been a decent start for the film. For that to happen film will need some kind of growth on both Saturday and Sunday. A 30 crore net for the weekend would have been good. Anything below 20 crore net will be a below-par start to the box office campaign. 

Shikara had a low start on day one and has collected a paltry 1.2 crore net approx. The film will need a good jump on Saturday and further jump on Sunday to put up some number for the opening weekend. The film picked up pace from evening onward which says the trend is good so far.
